Transform your garden into a water wonderland!
Spring is finally here! It's time to get into the garden and start creating a beautiful oasis where you can relax with family and friends on a balmy summer evening. Whether you prefer the crisp clean lines of a formal garden or the natural beauty of a native garden, there are many styles of water features to suit any garden environment. If you only have a small courtyard you can choose from dozens of formal or rustic self-contained water features, which are simple to install and maintain, and will create a lovely ambience with the bubbling sound of water and gentle play of rippling lights.
For the natural garden, you may wish to create a cascading waterfall or a meandering stream running into a pond full of colourful fish and flowering water plants. You may just prefer a simple frog pond with native fish and plants to encourage our natural frog population to thrive in your garden. These effects can be created easily with Universal Rocks lightweight pre-formed waterfalls, ponds and cascades with a natural finish to blend into your garden. If you don't mind a bit of 'hard yakka', you can build your own rock stream or cascade into a pre-formed poly pond or heavy duty pond liner.
For a more formal approach, there are many sizes of rectangular, square or round pre-formed ponds available. You could also build a limestone block retaining wall with a flexible heavy-duty pond liner to suit most pond sizes. Water walls are a very popular feature, some can be purchased as panels to fix to a wall, or you can buy a water blade and build your own wall with the cladding of your choice. You may prefer to use a formal concrete fountain or a lightweight granite-look feature.
If you already have a pond or water feature in your garden, now is the time to give it a clean out. Re-pot your water lilies and pond plants to get ready for their spring growth, check your pumps and filters, and think about adding a new feature or some lighting to enhance and add new interest to your water garden.
